Speakers:
Phil Kay, PhD, JMP Learning Manager
Volker Kraft, PhD, JMP Academic Ambassador
Date: Nov. 30th, 3pm – 4pm CET
Abstract:
JMP Pro is an industry-standard software for predictive modeling, which is known for modern modeling methods and powerful tools which help engineers and scientists to make statistical discoveries from data – without the need to write any line of code.
During this webinar, live demonstrations will focus on two recent developments in predictive modeling: First, we will show how to fit multiple models automatically and select the best-performing model using Model Screening. Secondly, the advantage of Self-Validating Ensemble Models in Generalized Regression will be demonstrated. You will also see how to apply cross-validation techniques to avoid overfitting, how to use the Prediction Profiler to improve model understanding and deploy models both inside and outside of JMP (e.g., in Python)
Bio:
Phil Kay helps scientists to solve complex problems using data analytics as Team Lead for Global Technical Enablement at JMP. Earlier in his career he gained a passion for statistical design of experiments while working as a development chemist at FujiFilm. Philhas a master’s degree in applied statistics and a master’s and PhD in chemistry. He is a chartered chemist and chair of the Royal Society of Chemistry process chemistry and technology interest group.
Volker Kraft is Principal Academic Ambassador for JMP in Europe, fostering and supporting the use of JMP in teaching and research. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and used statistical methods extensively in his research in communication acoustics. In later positions he developed a passion for customer advocacy. Drawing on this experience and the success of JMP's Academic Program globally, Volker is charged with enabling academics in Europe to get the most from JMP.
