Abstract:

JMP is widely appreciated by many ENBIS members, both from industry and academia, as a software to gain insights from data without any need for coding. The software is used for teaching and research by more than 2300 universities worldwide, also because its unfolding and visual user interface stimulates statistical thinking in a unique way.

The year 2024 brought some groundbreaking changes especially for academics. This webinar will share some highlights for both long-time and new JMP users, presented first-hand by the JMP academic team:

  • All existing multi-user and single-user academic JMP licenses will be replaced by a new product JMP Student Edition, provided as a FREE license for academic use. It has all advanced capabilities known from JMP and JMP Pro, supporting Functional Data Analysis, Text Analytics, and more powerful predictive modeling and statistical analyses. Following the overview and instructions from this webinar, the software will be instantly available to all existing and new academic users.
  • Our new release 18 takes the JMP-Python integration to the next level: JMP Student Edition comes with a single, supported version of Python embedded, convenient resources and an improved Python coding experience within JMP. See how easy it is now to use the best of both worlds.
  • In addition to JMP preferences, the latest release introduced platform presets as a new way to customize generic JMP platforms like Distribution, Fit Y by X or Fit Model. We will present use cases like preconfiguring platforms for teaching demos or producing publication-ready outputs.
