ENBIS/JMP Short course: Data Quality and Data Preparation Workflows

→ Europe/Amsterdam
Description

Data Quality and Data Preparation Workflows

Speaker:

Volker Kraft, JMP, Principal Academic Ambassador

Date: Nov 26th, 2 pm CET

Abstract:

Data preparation typically consumes well over half of the effort in any analytics project, and it is where analyses succeed or fail. No model can compensate for data that is incomplete, inconsistent or poorly understood. And while AI can accelerate many downstream tasks, deciding what "good data" means for a given question still takes domain knowledge and statistical judgment.

This online short course shows how JMP supports the path from raw data to analysis-ready data within a single interactive environment. We will look at how to bring data in, how to assess its quality (missing values, outliers, inconsistent categories, data type issues) and how to clean and correct it efficiently. Because preparation and exploration happen side by side, problems become visible early and can be fixed on the spot. Every step can be documented and reproduced in a JMP workflow, and the prepared data can be analyzed in JMP or handed over to any other software.

The course combines short conceptual input with live demonstrations on realistic, messy data sets. It is aimed at analysts, engineers, researchers and educators; no JMP knowledge is required.
